Job Summary
We are looking for an Electrical Technician responsible for supporting machine and facility electrical systems, daily breakdown troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and equipment reliability.
The successful candidate must be hands-on, responsive to daily machine issues and able to work closely with Process Engineering, Production, Maintenance and Toolroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend daily machine and facility electrical breakdowns and abnormalities.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems involving wiring, sensors, relays, contactors, motors, inverters, control panels and related components.
- Record breakdown symptoms, findings, corrective actions, parts replaced and repair status.
- Follow up breakdown issues until equipment is restored or properly escalated.
- Execute preventive maintenance activities according to the schedule prepared by the Process Engineer.
- Inspect electrical panels, cables, terminals, motors, sensors, safety circuits and control components.
- Carry out approved electrical installation, wiring, component replacement and machine modification work.
- Inspect and verify emergency stops, interlocks, alarms, two-hand controls and other machine safety devices.
- Support mechanical troubleshooting and repair activities when required.
- Perform functional and safety verification before equipment is released back to Production.
- Monitor critical electrical spare parts and inform/request the Process Engineer when replenishment or purchasing is required.
- Support machine trials, improvement activities and repeat-breakdown prevention.
- Inform the Process Engineer when external contractor or specialist support is required; external arrangements shall be coordinated by the Process Engineer.
- Follow work priorities and instructions assigned by the Process Engineer.
- Obtain approval from the Process Engineer before changing assigned priorities or supporting other activities, except for immediate safety emergencies.
Requirements
- SPM / SKM / Certificate / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or related technical field.
- Preferably 2 years of experience in industrial machine electrical maintenance or manufacturing support.
- Basic knowledge of industrial wiring, motor control, sensors, relays, contactors, inverters and control panels.
- Able to use a multimeter and basic electrical tools safely.
- Able to read basic electrical/wiring diagrams.
- Willing to perform hands-on electrical and mechanical support.
- Good troubleshooting, communication and record-keeping skills.
- Relevant electrical competency/certification is an advantage where applicable.
Pay: From RM2,000.00 per month
