Regulatory Development Manager

The Regulatory Development Manager will be a critical link between our regulatory, commercial and development teams. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the regulatory landscape for online gambling/betting exchanges in our licensed jurisdictions (Alderney, UK, and Ireland), with an ability to interpret and understand licence requirements and regulatory standards in any new territories. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating complex regulatory requirements into actionable development specifications, managing the implementation of regulatory changes, and developing reporting obligations.

What will I be doing?

Regulatory Interpretation and Application

Maintain expert-level knowledge of all relevant gambling and betting regulations, technical standards, and licensing conditions specific to Alderney, the UK and Ireland.

Proactively monitor and interpret new or amended regulatory requirements from licensing bodies.

Translate regulatory obligations into clear, detailed, and measurable requirements for product development and technology teams.

Maintain relevant policies aligned to our Internal Control Systems.

Development and Change Management

-
Integrate regulatory compliance checkpoints into the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Change

- Management processes.

Serve as the primary compliance subject matter expert for all new product features, platform enhancements, and core system changes.

Collaborate with product managers and engineers to design solutions that meet regulatory mandates while supporting business objectives.

Review and approve change requests from a compliance perspective before implementation.

Regulatory Reporting and Liaison

Manage and coordinate all required regulatory reporting, ensuring timely and accurate submission to the relevant licensing authorities. This includes, but is not limited to, reports on:

Responsible Gambling metrics and interventions.

Technical and platform changes.

Suspicious betting activities or integrity issues.

Standard and ad-hoc regulatory requests

Act as a key liaison with regulatory bodies for technical and development-related queries or audits.

Prepare and maintain audit-ready documentation detailing how regulatory requirements have been implemented and tested.

Compliance and Documentation

Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to embed compliance into day-to-day development and operational activities.

Ensure all necessary internal and external documentation (e.g., Terms & Conditions, technical documentation, operational procedures) accurately reflect current regulatory requirements.

Index and control the Compliance policy framework.

Licensing and licence maintenance

Assist with licence applications and ensure that the company is fully aligned with obligations arising from a multi-jurisdictional licensing framework.

What we are looking for

Essential

-
Minimum of 5 years experience in a regulatory compliance, legal, or development role within the online gambling industry.

Demonstrable understanding of the regulatory frameworks for licensed betting operators in the UK, Alderney, and Ireland.

Proven experience in translating regulatory text into technical specifications or business requirements.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex regulatory issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desirable

Experience working with a betting exchange model.

Experience using project management and development tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
