As a Laboratory Operations Specialist, you help ensure precise laboratory work, accurate documentation and smooth day-to-day operations in our laboratory and pilot plant. With your hands-on expertise and attention to detail, you support our team in developing innovative solutions for medical nutrition.

Your Responsibilities

- Prepare and support laboratory and pilot-plant experiments, including materials, samples, data collection, cleanup and documentation.

- Operate defined processing equipment and apply techniques such as emulsification, drying and in-vitro digestion methods after appropriate training and in line with approved instructions.

- Take measurements and perform routine biological or chemical analytical tests in accordance with standard procedures.

- Help ensure laboratory and pilot-plant equipment remains safe and ready for use by completing or coordinating routine checks, cleaning, maintenance, calibration and external servicing.

- Maintain reliable laboratory operations by monitoring stocks and expiry dates, organizing storage and ordering approved chemicals, reagents and consumables through established processes.

- Document work steps, observations and experimental data accurately in handwritten and electronic systems, and contribute to data evaluation, experiment summaries and project reports.

- Contribute to quality-compliant laboratory operations by following SOPs and safety requirements and supporting the creation and review of work instructions, forms and related documentation.

- Collaborate closely with scientists, researchers, laboratory colleagues and project teams, communicating progress, results, deviations and resource needs promptly.

Your Qualifications

- Completed vocational or academic scientific education, for example as a medical-technical or chemical-technical laboratory assistant, chemical assistant, or with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a comparable discipline.

- At least three years of relevant professional experience in a laboratory, pilot-plant, R&D, analytical, food, nutrition, chemical, pharmaceutical or life-science environment.

- Confident hands-on laboratory and pilot-plant skills, with the ability to follow protocols, SOPs, safety requirements and work instructions precisely.

- Practical knowledge of processing equipment such as rotor-stator systems, high-pressure homogenizers, autoclaves, UHT systems, enzymatic reactors or drying technologies is an advantage.

- Knowledge of physical and analytical characterization methods, such as pH measurement, microscopy, HPLC, GC, LC/MS, particle-size analysis or rheology, and an interest in scientific data evaluation and reporting.

- Good command of MS Office and SharePoint; experience with laboratory or data-analysis software such as OriginPro, Chromeleon or Minitab is an advantage.

- Fluent written and spoken English and German, enabling safe laboratory work, reliable documentation and effective team communication.

- Well-organized working style, practical problem-solving skills and motivation to contribute to an international, multidisciplinary team.
