Role Overview

McKesson is seeking a Senior Director, FP&A. McKesson is seeking a Senior Director, Financial Planning & Analysis to lead FP&A support for the Strategic, Community and Specialized Care (SCS) segment. Reporting to the VP, Customer Operations FP&A, this leader will serve as the senior finance partner for SCS and oversee segment-level planning, forecasting, reporting, performance analytics, and strategic decision support across Strategic Accounts, Community Pharmacy & Health, and Specialized Care. The role will lead a high-performing team, translate complex customer and product economics into actionable insights, strengthen financial and data governance, and partner across Segment Leadership, Finance, Sales, Pricing, Operations, and Technology to drive business performance optimization and enable long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the SCS financial planning cycle, including monthly close, rolling forecasts, annual operating plan, long-range planning, risks and opportunities, and executive reporting.

Engage with and advise Segment Leadership on critical strategic and financial decisions impacting segment performance and ensuring the business is well positioned to advance long-term growth objectives.

Own and communicate the SCS financial performance, with clear performance views for Strategic Accounts, Community Pharmacy & Health, and Specialized Care, including customer-, product-, and subsegment-level drivers to inform strategic business decisions.

Drive modernization and automation of SCS FP&A processes, including self-service dashboards, repeatable templates, standardized reporting, scalable analytics, and practical use of data, AI, and digital tools.

Oversee financial support for all strategic SCS initiatives, including the CP&H economic model, APCI execution, key Strategic Accounts renewals, AIM28 initiatives, policy-related impacts, and other SCS growth programs.

Create and deliver concise executive readouts including: Monthly P&L reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews, Strategic Operating Reviews, Townhalls, and ad hoc presentations that connect financial results to operational actions.

Establish and maintain trusted KPI, churn, win/loss, concession, and initiative-tracking processes that align financial and operational views and provide early visibility to performance risks and opportunities.

Partner with Segment and Sales Leaders and Pricing on customer renewals, new business wins, concessions, churn, pricing constructs, and growth initiatives; provide scenario analysis, business cases, guardrails, and value tracking.

Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team; set clear priorities, build business and digital capabilities, support succession planning, and create a collaborative, inclusive culture.

Balance recurring deliverables with high-priority ad hoc requests, using sound judgment to focus resources on the most material business decisions and enterprise outcomes.

Education & Minimum Requirements

-
Degree or equivalent experience. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent, relevant experience; MBA, CPA, or other advanced credential preferred.

-
Typically requires 13+ years of professional experience and 6+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people motivation skills (or equivalent experience).

Critical Skills

-
10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, finance, or a related discipline.

-
6+ years of leadership experience, including direct responsibility for developing finance talent and leading complex deliverables.

-
Demonstrated experience supporting a large, complex business segment or customer portfolio and partnering with senior commercial or operational leaders.

-
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tools strongly preferred.

-
Experience with enterprise planning, ERP, and financial reporting platforms such as SAC, SAP, PeopleSoft, Hyperion, COPA, or similar tools preferred.

-
Experience in pharmaceutical distribution, healthcare, supply chain, or another complex, high-volume industry is preferred.

Strong financial stewardship, including data validation, reconciliation, controls, governance, and clear documentation of assumptions and methodologies.

Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive-level storytelling and presentation skills.

Enterprise-first mindset with a collaborative approach to solving cross-functional issues and establishing sustainable solutions.

Working Environment

This role is a hybrid position. The selected candidate is expected to work on-site at our Las Colinas Office for a minimum of two (2) days per week, with the remaining days being worked remotely. Specific in-office days may be designated based on team needs and business priorities.
