Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to champion workplace safety and environmental compliance across our operations. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and maintain safety protocols and environmental management systems that promote a safe, compliant, and sustainable working environment. Your proactive approach will help prevent incidents, ensure regulatory adherence, and foster a culture of continuous safety improvement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify hazards related to hazardous materials regulations, workplace safety, and environmental health.
- Lead incident investigations using root cause analysis techniques to determine underlying issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide training and development sessions on safety regulations, environmental management systems, hazard communication, first aid, CPR, and OSHA compliance standards.
- Maintain accurate safety records, prepare detailed report writing for incidents or compliance audits, and ensure documentation meets regulatory/legal standards.
- Monitor environmental health initiatives to ensure adherence to EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) standards and hazardous materials regulations.
- Collaborate with teams to implement environmental health programs that support employee well-being and regulatory compliance standards in production environments.
Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, environmental science, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or a related technical field is preferred
- Proven experience in manufacturing or industrial settings with a strong understanding of workplace safety protocols.
- Knowledge of environmental management systems (EMS) and environmental regulatory compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, workers’ compensation law, and occupational health standards.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis and report writing for safety incidents or environmental audits.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, or related safety training is highly desirable.
- Experience in training & development related to occupational health & safety practices is preferred.
