About the Job

As a Digital Product Owner – Aftersales Platforms, you will own the digital development of a specific aftersales business domain across Europe. Based at BYD Europe Headquarters in the Netherlands, you will work at the intersection of business, markets and technology, translating market insights and operational challenges into digital strategy, product roadmaps and scalable solutions.

You will take end-to-end ownership across the product lifecycle – from market and business analysis, domain planning and product design to system integration, testing, rollout, operation and continuous improvement. Your role is not only to respond to requirements, but also to proactively identify market needs, define the right digital capabilities for your domain, and provide practical, high-quality support to European markets, front-line teams and dealers.

Depending on the assigned domain, your scope may include service operations, DMS/BSS, parts and supply chain, warranty and claims, technical service, customer care, service booking, data and AI, or other key aftersales platforms.

Main Responsibilities

- Domain Ownership, Market Insight and Business Planning: Develop a deep understanding of the assigned aftersales domain and its end-to-end business processes. Continuously gather insights from European markets, dealers, customers, industry practices and technology trends; identify key pain points and opportunities; and translate them into domain priorities, digital capability plans and product roadmaps.

- Requirement Analysis and Product / Solution Design: Work closely with European business teams and markets to frame business problems, challenge and prioritize requirements, and design scalable solutions. Define business processes, user journeys, functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and product specifications, ensuring solutions create measurable business and customer value.

- Enterprise Systems, Integration and Technical Solution: Drive the implementation, optimization and integration of relevant enterprise platforms such as DMS, BSS, SAP, WMS, OMS, TIS and third-party systems. Work with HQ development teams, local IT teams and external vendors on system architecture, APIs, data flows, integration design and technical feasibility.

- Delivery, Testing and Rollout: Own delivery from solution definition through development coordination, functional testing, UAT, go-live and European rollout. Ensure quality, readiness and timely delivery, proactively resolving cross-functional dependencies and delivery risks.

- Operation, Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement: Provide ongoing product and operational support after go-live. Analyze system and business issues, identify root causes, coordinate resolution and continuously improve product performance, process efficiency, stability and user experience.

- Market Enablement and Adoption: Plan and drive product adoption across European markets. Develop rollout approaches, training materials, user guidance and best practices; organize platform promotion, training and knowledge-sharing activities; and establish feedback loops with markets and dealers.

- Data, AI and Innovation: Use data to understand business performance, support decision-making and identify improvement opportunities. Explore and apply AI, automation and emerging technologies where they can materially improve aftersales operations, user productivity or customer experience.

- Stakeholder and Vendor Management: Act as the bridge between European markets, business functions, BYD HQ development teams and external technology partners. Build alignment, manage priorities and drive decisions with a strong ownership mindset in a fast-changing environment.

Qualification and Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Business Information Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or another relevant field with a strong digital / technology foundation.

- 3+ years of relevant experience in digital product ownership, enterprise IT, system implementation, digital transformation or related roles. Experience in automotive aftersales, dealer systems, service operations, supply chain, warranty, customer service or other relevant domains is highly valued.

- Demonstrated depth in at least one business or digital domain, with the ability to understand market needs, identify business problems and translate them into product strategy and scalable digital solutions.

- Strong product and solution design capability, including business process analysis, requirement management, prioritization, roadmap planning, functional design, testing and rollout.

- Solid enterprise IT understanding. Familiarity with APIs (REST / SOAP), system integration, databases / SQL, data flows and system architecture is expected. Hands-on programming or development experience in Java, Python, C# or similar technologies is an advantage, but not mandatory.

- Experience with enterprise platforms such as DMS, ERP / SAP, WMS, OMS, CRM, TIS or comparable business systems is highly desirable.

- Good understanding of data and AI, with the ability to use modern digital and AI tools to improve analysis, product design, delivery efficiency and business outcomes.

- Strong project delivery and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across business teams, technical teams, European markets and external vendors.

- Strong ownership, resilience and problem-solving capability. Comfortable working in a fast-growing, high-change environment and able to independently drive ambiguous problems toward practical outcomes.

- Customer- and market-oriented mindset, with the ability to think from the perspective of front-line teams, dealers and end customers rather than only from a system perspective.

- Fluent English is required. Mandarin Chinese is a plus due to frequent collaboration with BYD HQ and development teams.

We Offer

- Performance- and experience-based competitive remuneration and pension plan.

- 25 holidays with the option to purchase 5 additional holidays.

- Commuting allowance.

- Department and company-wide team-building events.

- The opportunity to shape and own key digital capabilities for BYD’s rapidly growing European aftersales business.
