Are you ready to safeguard airworthiness and shape the future of maintenance engineering across Airbus commercial fleets?
Join the Maintenance Programme Engineering team as our Airworthiness Limitations Section (ALS) Part 1 Manager. In this transnational high-impact role, you will bridge the gap between cutting edge aircraft design, global airworthiness authorities, and international airline operations. Operating across all Airbus commercial aircraft programs (except A220) you will serve as the technical authority ensuring that critical safe-life structural components remain safe, compliant, and operationally efficient.
Role Summary
Reporting within the Maintenance Program Organization you will be accountable for the production and continuous certification of the ALS Part 1 Safe Life Airworthiness Limitation Items Justification Document - a vital part of Airbus Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA). This specialist role is critical for driving maintenance strategies and integrating requirements between landing gear design engineering, certification teams, and global airline operators. You will use your technical expertise to analyze and challenge maintenance requirements, sign off as a Compliance Demonstration Engineer (CVE), and bring the direct voice of our airline customers straight into the engineering design phase.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM
-
By driving core ALS production you will be accountable for ALS Part 1 production and maintenance program updates across all Airbus commercial aircraft programs (except A220).
-
Lead technical certification and act as the primary interface to certify new safe-life structure parts (e.g. landing gear components where damage tolerance concepts are impractical).
-
Exercise Technical Approver (TA) and Compliance Demonstration Engineer (CVE) signatories to validate and approve critical airworthiness deliverables.
-
Serve as the voice of airlines within Design Engineering to ensure scheduled maintenance requirements are considered at the design level.
-
Help reduce Direct Maintenance Costs (DMC) while maximizing overall aircraft operational availability.
-
Deploy and supervise outsourced work packages to guarantee high deliverable quality and support process digitalization initiatives.
-
Support the Maintenance Engineering Front Desk by resolving daily airline technical queries within target dates and quality standards.
ABOUT YOU
-
Engineering degree or equivalent experience, with 5 to 10 years of professional experience, preferably in aeronautical engineering support or aircraft maintenance.
-
Demonstrated knowledge of airframe engineering, with a specialized focus on safe-life structures.
-
Broad knowledge of civil aircraft systems and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA).
-
Fluent in English with strong presentation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
Not a 100% match? No worries! Airbus supports your personal growth with customised development solutions.
