Senior / Lead Software Engineer – AI, Agentic Applications & Cloud
Location: Mexico City, Mexico
We are looking for a hands-on Senior/Lead Software Engineer with several years of software engineering experience to design, build, and deliver scalable, production-grade applications, AI-powered services, and cloud-native platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop AI-powered and agentic applications from concept through production.
- Build scalable backend services using Java and/or Python.
- Develop and integrate REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
- Build cloud-native applications using Kubernetes, containers, AWS and/or Azure.
- Apply Generative AI, LLMs, agent orchestration, tool calling, RAG, context/memory, and AI workflows.
- Take AI solutions from prototype to production, focusing on reliability, scalability, security, observability, latency, and cost.
- Improve SDLC/PDLC through automation, CI/CD, automated testing, and AI-assisted development.
- Use AI coding assistants and modern engineering tools to improve coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and delivery.
- Create reusable frameworks, services, and engineering capabilities that improve developer productivity.
- Participate in architecture, design reviews, code reviews, troubleshooting, and technical decision-making.
- Collaborate with Product, Data Science, AI, and Engineering teams to convert business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers when required.
Required Skills
- Software Engineering experience
- Strong hands-on Java and/or Python
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI / Agentic AI / LLM applications
- Knowledge of agent orchestration, tool calling, prompt/context management, memory, and evaluation
- Kubernetes + Docker/Containers
- AWS and/or Azure
- REST APIs, Microservices, Distributed Systems
- Event-driven architecture / Kafka / messaging
- CI/CD, automated testing, and engineering automation
- Experience building and operating production-grade scalable systems
- Strong understanding of security, observability, reliability, performance, and maintainability
