Role: Senior SDET Consultant

Job Description:
- Test Engineering Experience — Experience as a Test Engineer, QA Engineer, or SDET, with hands-on responsibility for designing test strategies and developing automated test code, rather than solely executing predefined test plans.
- Test Automation & Coding — Strong ability to write and maintain test automation code. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring solid programming skills.
- Strong Analytical Skills — Ability to interpret specifications, data models, API contracts, and event schemas to identify edge cases, failure scenarios, and potential defects.
- Agile Delivery Experience — Experience working as part of agile delivery teams, including contributing to refinement sessions, challenging assumptions and requirements, and helping shape solutions before implementation.
- Pragmatic Approach to Quality — Focus on building confidence in software quality and managing risk effectively, rather than optimizing solely for test coverage metrics.
- CI/CD Integration — Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines so that quality checks form an integral part of the software delivery process.
- Event-Driven Architecture — Familiarity with event-driven systems and their testing challenges, including event ordering, idempotency, asynchronous processing, and eventual consistency.
- Kafka Experience — Comfortable working with Kafka for testing purposes, including publishing test events, consuming and validating messages, and troubleshooting message flows.
- Strong SQL Skills — Ability to write complex SQL queries to compare data across systems, validate calculations and transformations, and identify data inconsistencies.
- Docker & Containerized Testing — Comfortable working with Docker and containerized environments for development and automated testing.
- Modern Test Tooling — Experience with modern testing frameworks and tools such as Test containers, JUnit, REST Assured, or equivalent technologies.
Desirable Experience
- Financial Services or Payments — Experience within financial services, payments, fintech, or other transaction-intensive environments.
- Migration & Platform Validation — Experience validating system migrations or platform replacements, including comparing outputs and behavior between existing and replacement systems.
- Performance Testing — Experience with performance, stress, or load testing and interpreting the resulting metrics to identify bottlenecks and scalability issues.
