HR Manager | Standalone | Multi-Site
East Midlands – Commutable from Nottingham, Derby & North Leicestershire
£50,000–£55,000 + Benefits | Site Based with 1 day from home
Eaton Syalon are supporting a growing SME with the appointment of an experienced HR Manager.
This is a genuinely hands on, standalone generalist role. We're looking for someone who understands what it means to be the person responsible for HR day to day, comfortable advising the leadership team one minute and dealing personally with an ER case, recruitment requirement, payroll query or policy issue the next.
Operating across a multi-site environment, you'll take ownership of the full people agenda, remaining visible and accessible to managers and employees across the business.
The Role
This is broad HR in its truest sense. You will:
- Manage the full employee life cycle across a multi-site business
- Provide practical, confident advice on employee relations and employment law
- Coach and support managers with day-to-day people matters
- Lead recruitment and support talent and succession planning
- Own HR policies, processes, compliance and employee documentation
- Oversee payroll, reward and benefits adminmistration from an HR perspective
- Support engagement, culture and organisational development
- Map out and implement process improvements and policy review
- Work closely with the CEO and leadership team on wider people priorities
- Balance longer-term initiatives with the everyday requirements of running HR
There is scope to influence and improve, but this isn't a role where the operational work sits with a team beneath you. You'll remain close to the detail and personally deliver much of the HR activity.
About You
The environment is important, so we're particularly interested in people who can demonstrate:
- Recent experience operating as a true HR generalist
- Experience within an SME or similarly hands-on environment
- Previous responsibility for HR across multiple sites
- Experience working standalone or within a very lean HR structure
- Strong, practical employee relations experience
- Confidence working directly with senior leaders while remaining accessible to employees at every level
- A pragmatic approach and genuine enjoyment of operational HR
This could suit someone already working as a standalone HR Manager who wants a broader multi-site opportunity, or someone from a small HR team who is ready to take full ownership.
