PGT – Physical Education
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Physical Education lessons as per the school curriculum.
- Teach theoretical and practical aspects of Physical Education to senior classes.
- Organize and conduct sports, games, fitness activities, and physical training sessions.
- Develop students’ physical fitness, coordination, endurance, strength, and sportsmanship.
- Identify and nurture students’ sporting abilities and provide appropriate coaching and guidance.
- Prepare students for inter-school, district, state, and other sports competitions and various sports tournaments at all levels.
- Organize and supervise school-level sports events, competitions, and athletic activities.
- Maintain proper records of students’ participation, performance, fitness, and achievements.
- Ensure discipline and safety during physical education classes and sports activities.
- Coordinate with teachers, students, parents, and school administration regarding sports and physical education activities.
- Encourage motivation, teamwork, leadership, discipline, safety and a healthy lifestyle among students.
- Ensure proper use, maintenance, and safety of sports equipment and facilities.
- Participate in school events, activities, meetings, and other duties assigned by the management from line to line.
Eligibility & Requirements
- Qualification: M.P.Ed. (Master of Physical Education).
- Four year integrated course/Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education/Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports offered by NCTE recognized Institution/University with at least 50% marks
OR
Graduation from a recognized university and B. P. Ed. offered by NCTE recognized institution/University with at least 50% marks in Graduation and B. P. Ed. separately.
Desirable:
i. Represented at least State at National Level in any of the Sports/Games recognized by Sports Authority of India (SAI)/the concerned federation.
ii. Working knowledge of English and Hindi/other Regional Language.
iii. Experience of working in a school.
iv. Diploma from National Institution of Sports. (Optional)
