Role Description The General Manager is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. This role coordinates project planning and execution, supervises field and office teams, and maintains strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors. The General Manager monitors financial performance, manages resource allocation, and implements process improvements to support efficiency and quality standards. The position also oversees compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and contractual requirements while guiding staff development and performance management. This role collaborates closely with senior leadership to support strategic planning and growth initiatives across the business.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in construction or specialty contracting operations, including oversight of multiple projects and teams.
- Strong leadership, team management, and conflict resolution skills, with an ability to coach, mentor, and hold teams accountable.
- Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, and resource management; experience with construction management software is beneficial.
- Solid financial and business acumen, including budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and contract management.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge of safety standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements relevant to stucco, framing, drywall, and paint trades.
- Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and make informed decisions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Previous experience in a senior operations or general management role within construction or related industries strongly preferred.
