Harnham are working with an innovative FinTech lender that is transforming the way consumer lending works through a more personalised and affordability-focused approach. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Credit Risk professional to take ownership of a critical function within a growing business.

Rather than relying solely on conventional credit scoring methods, the business leverages income, affordability and alternative data sources to create a more personalised lending experience for customers. THE ROLE
This is a leadership position responsible for shaping and developing the organisation's credit risk and affordability strategy. You will play a key role in building capabilities, influencing product direction, and ensuring robust credit decisioning as the business scales.
Specifically, you can expect to be involved in:
- Leading the credit risk and affordability function.
- Developing and enhancing credit strategies, policies and decisioning frameworks.
- Building and integrating credit risk models using a range of data sources.
- Working with affordability, bureau and Open Banking data to improve risk assessment.
- Managing and developing a small team while collaborating closely with senior stakeholders and product teams.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The successful Credit Risk Manager will have the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience within consumer lending and credit risk.
- Strong background in credit strategy, underwriting and risk decisioning.
- Experience working with affordability data and Open Banking solutions.
- Understanding of fraud risk and fraud prevention frameworks.
- Ability to work with data and coding environments, including SQL.
- Experience operating within a FinTech, start-up or scale-up environment.
BENEFITS
The successful Credit Risk Manager will receive a salary up to £80,000 as well as equity.
