Controls & Automation Engineer Location: Jacksonville, Arkansas We are seeking a hands-on Controls & Automation Engineer to support high-volume manufacturing equipment and lead plant-floor automation improvements.
This role serves as a technical resource for industrial control systems, balancing urgent troubleshooting with equipment upgrades and new automation projects.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical control and automation issues to minimize production downtime.
- Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, variable frequency drives, servos, and sensors.
- Program, update, and optimize control applications using Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Automation systems, including Studio 5000, ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and FactoryTalk View.
- Design and install custom control panels, commission new equipment, and modernize legacy relay-controlled systems.
- Support the integration of robotics into production lines.
- Create and maintain electrical wiring diagrams and control schematics.
- Manage and secure control system software backups.
Qualifications
- At least five years of experience with controls and automation in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience with industrial networks, particularly EtherNet/IP.
- Experience working with industrial electrical systems up to 480 VAC.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or Engineering Technology preferred. An associate degree or approximately 10 years of directly relevant field experience will also be considered.
