The Role
As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling the core backend systems that underpin the company's platform.
You'll tackle complex technical problems, contribute to architecture decisions, drive engineering best practices, and build reliable systems that support a growing customer base and expanding product suite.

What You'll Be Doing
• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and platform infrastructure
• Improve system reliability, observability, performance, and maintainability
• Collaborate with data and machine learning teams on shared platform initiatives
• Support data processing, orchestration, and model deployment workflows
• Design and maintain integrations with external systems and technology partners
• Define and implement API standards and data contracts
• Influence architecture decisions, engineering standards, testing strategies, and deployment processes
• Help improve CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, and operational efficiency
• Mentor engineers and provide guidance on system design, debugging, and engineering best practices
• Contribute to a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong expertise building backend applications and services with Python
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, databases, APIs, and cloud-native architectures
• Experience deploying and operating production systems within AWS
• Hands-on experience with services such as EKS, ECS, Lambda, networking, and cloud infrastructure
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
• Strong understanding of testing, CI/CD, software security, and modern engineering practices
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
Nice To Have
• Experience working in highly regulated industries such as healthcare, biotech, fintech, cybersecurity, or life sciences
• Exposure to machine learning platforms and data-intensive applications
• Experience building third-party integrations and large-scale data workflows
• Familiarity with modern workflow orchestration tools and data platforms
