Join an international commerce technology company as a Full Stack Developer with a strong backend focus. Build scalable services and integrations using TypeScript and Node.js for complex B2B and B2C commerce environments.
The company
You will join an international commerce technology company with engineering teams in the Netherlands, Canada and Vietnam. The company works with established international brands that have complex B2B and B2C environments. Projects go far beyond standard webshop implementations and regularly involve custom middleware, backend services and integrations with platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, WMS and POS systems.
Despite working on enterprise-level challenges, the engineering culture is pragmatic and fast-moving. Developers are encouraged to challenge technical decisions, introduce new tools and take ownership of projects from scoping through to production.
What will you work on?
Your main focus will be backend development using TypeScript and Node.js.
Your work can include:
• Building integrations between commerce, ERP, WMS, POS and accounting platforms
• Developing microservices, custom middleware and private applications
• Processing and synchronising product, inventory, order and financial data
• Designing reliable APIs and data flows using REST and GraphQL
• Working with PostgreSQL and high-volume commerce environments
• Contributing to the monorepo, shared NPM libraries and internal developer tooling
• Reviewing code and helping shape technical solutions during project scoping
• Occasionally contributing to frontend applications built with React and Remix
You will collaborate with developers across multiple countries while having plenty of ownership over your own work. This is not a role in which you only receive isolated tickets. The company is looking for someone who wants to understand the wider problem and contribute to the solution.
What are they looking for?
•At least 6 years of professional software development experience
• Strong experience with TypeScript and Node.js
• Experience building backend services, APIs or system integrations
• Good knowledge of PostgreSQL, REST APIs and preferably GraphQL
• The ability to think about reliability, scalability and maintainability
• A proactive and collaborative working style
• Comfortable communicating in English within an international team
Experience with e-commerce platforms or ERP integrations is useful but not required. Strong backend engineering experience and an interest in complex integrations are more important.
What do they offer?
• Salary up to €85,000 per year based on 40 hours
• The possibility to work 32, 36 or 40 hours per week
• A hybrid setup with 1 day per week in the office
• Friday as the fixed team day at the office
• Performance-based bonuses and incentives
• International collaboration with teams in Canada and Vietnam
• Opportunities to travel to Canada
• Technical mentorship and clear opportunities for further growth
• Complex projects where backend engineering is central to the solution
