Our client is a growing and entrepreneurial speciality insurance business based in the heart of the London Insurance Market. Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to lead the finance team. This is a varied role offering exposure to both transactional and month-end accounting responsibilities, including FCA submissions, along with financial planning, forecasting and business partnering activities.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the finance function whilst supporting the wider business with financial insight and operational excellence.

Responsibilities;

- Preparation of year-end statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors, including insurance and reinsurance audits.

- The production of monthly management accounts, including P&L reporting, variance analysis and ad hoc financial reporting.

- Financial analysis of investment opportunities (new product launch or acquisitions), managing asset and cost allocations.

- Reconcile bank accounts, investigate discrepancies and monitor cash balances.

- Process and reconcile insurance and reinsurance premiums, working closely with brokers, insurers and relevant tax authorities.

- Oversee the timely receipt, review and reconciliation of Bordereaux (BDX) and remittance data from Managing General Agents (MGAs), coverholders, brokers and delegated underwriting partners.

- Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring an accurate and timely month-end close.

- Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow forecasting activities.

- Prepare and submit VAT returns

- Manage the accounts payable function, including invoice processing, supplier statement reconciliations and payment runs. Issuance and tracking of Notices of Cancellation where necessary.

- Manage accounts receivable, ensuring timely invoicing, allocation of receipts and proactive credit control. Producing premium and claim reconciliations.

- Preparation of financials for FCA submissions for regulatory reporting

- Recognise and implement finance systems improvements and process optimisation as the business continues to grow.

- Build strong working relationships with operational teams, brokers, insurers and external stakeholders, providing financial support and insight where required.

You must have;

- Prior experience within an insurance or reinsurance operation.

- Strong demonstrable experience with preparing both statutory accounts and management accounts.

- Experience with running transactional day-to-day finance operations including; AP and AR.

- Able to confidently work independently in dynamic, fact-paced and entrepreneurial environment.

- Possess excellent communication and relationship building skills.

- Able to schedule, prioritise and manage busy workloads.

Salary on offer is up to £80k + benefits
