The Role
- Lead a QA Automation team, defining the test automation strategy across all levels (Unit, Integration, System, Stress, Performance tests).
- Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to ensure team delivery and quality commitments.
- Implement 'shift-left', automation-first, and risk-based testing approaches in the development process.
- Remain hands-on in designing scalable frameworks, harnesses, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Drive AI-native test automation, using AI agents for test generation, maintenance, and triage.
- Mentor QA Engineers, continuously raising the technical bar and contributing to the QA community.
What You'll Need
- Proven leadership experience in test automation with strong technical credibility.
- Ability to develop a senior technical team both professionally and personally.
- Excellent university degree (preferably Master's) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar.
- Profound experience with multi-layered test frameworks, CI/CD, load and performance tests.
- Strong programming skills in C#, Java, Python, or TypeScript; ideally familiar with Qt, .NET, MariaDB, Gematik TI, Security, and Penetration Testing.
- Demonstrated effective use of AI in QA, preferably with Claude Code or similar agentic tools, and experience in designing AI pipelines, test harnesses, and context engineering.
- Fluent German and English, strong problem-solving skills, high innovation, proactivity, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
