Referment is working with a global investment and technology firm to hire a full-time professional and technical writing coach for its learning and development function.
The organisation has a rigorous, writing-intensive environment. You will coach colleagues across disciplines and seniority levels, helping them communicate complex professional, financial, and technical ideas with greater clarity. The role combines individual coaching with consultation on important team documents and proposals.
The Role
- Coach colleagues one-to-one on professional, financial, and technical writing.
- Diagnose what is limiting a piece of writing and give specific, actionable guidance, even when the subject matter is unfamiliar.
- Consult with teams on complex write-ups and proposals.
- Help writers develop repeatable approaches that meet demanding standards for accuracy, structure, and clarity.
- Support thoughtful use of AI writing tools where appropriate.
What We're Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree and at least five years’ writing-coaching or teaching experience, ideally with graduate learners or in a corporate environment.
- Exceptional writing, verbal communication, analytical judgment, and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence coaching technical or specialist professionals and handling confidential material with discretion.
- Familiarity with AI writing tools is highly valued; knowledge of writing-centre practice, rhetoric, composition, or pedagogy is useful.
This could suit an experienced writing-centre professional, corporate writing coach, or advanced writing instructor comfortable engaging with demanding technical and financial material.
