About The Role
The role builds and maintains native mobile experiences for iOS and Android, from polished user interfaces to the APIs, local data layers, and telemetry that support them. Engineers will work with Swift and Kotlin, modern mobile frameworks, and backend service owners to deliver reliable product capabilities across both platforms.
This position matters because mobile is a primary customer touchpoint: startup performance, offline behavior, accessibility, crash rates, and release quality directly affect adoption and retention. The team values engineers who can make sound platform-specific decisions while contributing to shared architecture, testing standards, and a consistent cross-platform product experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and ship production features for iOS and Android using Swift/SwiftUI and Kotlin/Jetpack Compose, with clear attention to performance, accessibility, and platform conventions
- Design mobile architecture across networking, local persistence, authentication, state management, and analytics using REST or GraphQL APIs
- Collaborate with product, design, backend, and QA partners to turn requirements into technically sound, testable mobile experiences
- Improve application reliability by profiling startup time, memory usage, battery consumption, network behavior, and crash reports using tools such as Instruments, Android Profiler, and Crashlytics
- Create unit, integration, and UI tests; maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, signing, distribution, and release validation through Fastlane or equivalent tooling
- Review code, document technical decisions, and help establish reusable components, coding standards, and release practices across the mobile codebase
- Diagnose and resolve production issues using logs, metrics, remote configuration, and staged rollout strategies across the App Store and Google Play
What We Are Looking For
- 3–8 years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial production experience building and shipping iOS, Android, or cross-platform mobile applications
- Strong proficiency in Swift and/or Kotlin, with hands-on experience in SwiftUI/UIKit, Jetpack Compose/Android Views, and platform lifecycle, threading, and networking fundamentals
- Experience designing and consuming REST or GraphQL APIs, handling authentication and secure local storage, and working with offline or intermittently connected user flows
- Practical knowledge of mobile testing, CI/CD, observability, and release management, including XCTest, XCTest UI, Espresso, XCUITest, Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions, or comparable tools
- Ability to make pragmatic architecture decisions involving modularization, dependency injection, state management, local persistence, and shared code between platforms
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience
- Bonus: Experience with React Native or Flutter, mobile payments, maps or location services, accessibility standards, app performance optimization, and large-scale consumer applications
