Role: Commercial HVAC Technician - Levels I, II & III

Location: Nashville, TN | Field Based

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

Employment Type: Full-Time

Openings: Multiple

Pay: $20 – $45 / hour depending on experience and level

Benefits: This role is eligible for medical, dental, vision, 401K, PTO, paid holidays and overtime.

About The Opportunity

Addison Group is hiring multiple Commercial HVAC Technicians to support a large facilities portfolio in the Nashville area. We are seeking technicians at multiple experience levels, from developing commercial HVAC professionals to experienced senior technicians capable of independently troubleshooting complex systems and providing leadership in the field.

This is a field-based position supporting a consistent portfolio of commercial facilities within an assigned geographic area. Technicians will perform service, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repairs across a variety of commercial HVAC systems.

Available Levels & Compensation

Level III / Senior HVAC Technician

$35 – $45 / hour

Ideal for experienced commercial HVAC technicians who can independently troubleshoot complex systems and provide guidance to junior technicians.

Level II HVAC Technician

$30 – $40 / hour

Ideal for technicians with several years of hands-on commercial HVAC experience who are comfortable performing service, maintenance, and troubleshooting with limited supervision.

Level I HVAC Technician

$20 – $25 / hour

Ideal for technicians with hands-on commercial HVAC field experience who are continuing to develop their technical capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform commercial HVAC service, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance.

- Diagnose HVAC equipment and system issues and determine appropriate repairs.

- Service a variety of commercial HVAC equipment and systems.

- Work with equipment including RTUs, AHUs, VAVs, and VRF systems.

- Follow proper lockout/tagout and workplace safety procedures.

- Complete assigned service and maintenance work across multiple commercial facilities.

- Maintain accurate documentation of completed work and identified equipment issues.

- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and facility contacts.

- Assist with emergency or after-hours needs as part of a periodic on-call rotation.

Senior/Level III technicians may also:

- Serve as a field lead for junior and preventative maintenance technicians.

- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to other team members.

- Independently diagnose and resolve more complex commercial HVAC issues.

- Help ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to established standards.

Qualifications

All Levels:

- Hands-on commercial HVAC field experience required.

- EPA certification required; EPA 608 Universal is acceptable.

- Working knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment and systems.

- Experience with RTUs, AHUs, VAVs, VRF systems, and related equipment preferred.

- Understanding of lockout/tagout and standard HVAC safety procedures.

- Valid driver's license required.

- Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screenings.

- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- Additional HVAC certifications, licenses, or technical training are a plus.

Level III / Senior:

- Approximately 7+ years of commercial HVAC field experience preferred.

- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities.

- Ability to work independently on complex commercial HVAC systems.

- Previous lead, supervisory, or field leadership experience strongly preferred.

Level II:

- Approximately 3–7 years of hands-on commercial HVAC field experience.

- Ability to independently perform routine service, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance.

Level I:

- Approximately 2+ years of hands-on HVAC field experience preferred.

- Foundational commercial HVAC service and troubleshooting experience.

Important Experience Requirements

This opportunity requires hands-on commercial HVAC field experience. Candidates whose experience is primarily residential HVAC or classroom/technical-school training without meaningful field experience may not meet the requirements for these positions.
