We are seeking a Senior FinOps Analyst to support a cloud cost reporting and optimization initiative for a large enterprise organization. This individual will help establish a more consistent and scalable approach to analyzing, reporting, and managing cloud and platform costs.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on analyst who can independently assess cloud spend, identify key cost drivers and optimization opportunities, and translate complex cost data into clear, actionable insights for leadership. This role will also help develop standardized reporting frameworks, KPIs, and cost allocation methodologies to improve transparency and enable more proactive cost management.
Responsibilities
- Analyze cloud and platform cost data to identify trends, spend drivers, anomalies, and optimization opportunities
- Provide independent assessments of cloud spend and communicate actionable recommendations
- Develop and recommend standardized cost reporting structures and dashboards
- Define and track KPIs related to cloud cost, utilization, efficiency, and optimization
- Support the development of cost allocation and attribution methodologies
- Use SQL to analyze large cost datasets and generate meaningful insights
- Improve the consistency and clarity of cost reporting across teams
- Partner with technical and business stakeholders to explain cost drivers and support data-driven decision-making
- Help establish repeatable FinOps processes that reduce reliance on ad hoc cost analysis
Qualifications
- Strong experience with FinOps, cloud cost management, cloud financial management, or cloud cost optimization
- Strong SQL skills and experience analyzing complex cost datasets
- Experience designing cost reports, dashboards, and KPI frameworks
- Understanding of cloud cost allocation, attribution, chargeback/showback, and optimization methodologies
- Experience working with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
- Ability to independently analyze data, identify cost drivers, and present findings to stakeholders
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience working within a large enterprise environment preferred
