Senior Product Design Lead
We’re looking for a Senior Product Design Lead to join a high-performing design organization supporting large-scale digital platforms. This is a senior individual contributor role for an experienced product designer who can take ownership of complex design problems, work directly with product and engineering, and quickly adapt to new platforms and business needs.
The ideal candidate is someone who can step into an unfamiliar product, quickly understand the users, workflows, and technical environment, and start delivering. You should be comfortable working across different teams and stakeholder groups, navigating ambiguity, and moving from strategy to hands-on design and prototyping.
What You’ll Do
- Own the end-to-end product design strategy and experience for complex digital platforms
- Bring structure and clarity to products with complex workflows, data, and multiple user groups
- Translate user needs, business goals, and technical constraints into thoughtful product experiences
- Develop prototypes and rapid concepts to test ideas and demonstrate solutions before full development
- Partner directly with product managers, engineers, researchers, and business stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle
- Influence product and technical decisions through strong design thinking and user-centered problem solving
- Design across an entire platform and connect experiences, workflows, and interaction patterns
- Contribute to and evolve scalable design systems, patterns, and reusable components
- Present design direction and recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Provide design critique and mentorship to help raise the quality of work across teams
- Quickly ramp up on new platforms and projects and transition between teams as business priorities change
What You Bring
- 10+ years of experience in product design, UX design, or a related field
- Experience leading design for complex, large-scale digital products or platforms
- Strong product design skills with the ability to think strategically and at a systems level
- Proven experience partnering closely with product and engineering teams
- Strong prototyping and interaction design skills
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments and independently drive work forward
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to quickly learn new domains and become effective without extensive subject-matter expertise
- A strong portfolio demonstrating product thinking, design process, and measurable impact
Preferred
- Experience using AI-assisted tools for product design, prototyping, or concept development
- Experience working with enterprise design systems and component libraries
- Experience in financial services, enterprise technology, or other complex/regulated environments
- Experience working in highly collaborative design, product, and engineering environments
This role is best suited for a consultant-minded design leader who enjoys jumping into complex problems, getting up to speed quickly, doing the hands-on work, and collaborating with different teams and stakeholders.
