Job Overview
We are seeking a Business Analyst to support client onboarding, payment processing programs, technical certification, compliance activities, and ongoing client support. The ideal candidate will have strong business analysis and client-facing skills, with the ability to understand technical documentation, interpret requirements, and work effectively with external clients and internal stakeholders.
This is a non-coding technical role. Candidates should be comfortable working with technical specifications, APIs, data formats, connectivity concepts, and business requirements, but hands-on programming is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the onboarding of credit, prepaid, and debit card programs onto a payment network.
- Work with issuers, processors, and external clients throughout the onboarding and implementation lifecycle.
- Provide guidance on technical specifications, program documentation, and business requirements.
- Review client requirements and identify gaps related to technical, operational, or compliance requirements.
- Work with clients to resolve and close identified compliance gaps.
- Support testing and certification activities for new card programs and ongoing releases.
- Coordinate with internal sales, relationship management, technical, and operational teams.
- Manage a portfolio of multiple clients and provide ongoing support.
- Respond to client questions related to reports, fees, requirements, technical specifications, and program documentation.
- Participate in client meetings through video conferences and calls.
- Support ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Help transition and manage business workflows using tools such as Smartsheet.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure client activities are completed according to established requirements.
Technical Responsibilities
- Read and understand technical specifications and program documentation.
- Interpret data-formatting requirements and structured file specifications.
- Understand basic connectivity concepts between systems and organizations.
- Understand APIs and how systems communicate with one another.
- Review basic batch-file processing concepts, including fields, headers, trailers, and file layouts.
- Work with clients to ensure data is formatted and submitted according to established specifications.
- Use reporting and business applications as an end user to support client activities.
Hands-on coding is not required.
Compliance & Requirements
- Review program documents, contracts, and published requirements.
- Understand and communicate compliance requirements to clients.
- Identify potential areas of non-compliance.
- Review available data or documentation to determine whether requirements are being followed.
- Work with clients to address and resolve compliance gaps.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail when interpreting requirements and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in Business Analysis, Client/Account Management, Implementation, Operations, or a related field.
- Strong client-facing and communication skills.
- Ability to understand and explain business and technical requirements.
- Experience reading technical documentation or specifications.
- Ability to understand data formats and basic system connectivity concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients, priorities, and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working with remote teams and external clients.
- Ability to work Eastern Time Zone business hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the payments, banking, financial services, or card-processing industry.
- Experience with issuer or processor onboarding.
- Experience with risk, compliance, or regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with APIs and system integrations.
- Understanding of batch-file processing and structured data.
- Experience with Smartsheet, particularly workflow development or application support.
- Familiarity with Salesforce.
- Familiarity with Tableau.
- Familiarity with Snowflake.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace.
- Experience supporting client certification or implementation programs.

Communication & Work Environment
- Primarily a remote position.
- Regular communication with clients is conducted through email and video conferencing.
- Email is the primary day-to-day communication method.
- Candidates should be comfortable participating in video meetings.
- Regular weekend work is not expected, although occasional after-hours support may be required for urgent production/client issues.
Interview Process
- Video-based interview.
- Primarily behavioral and structured interview questions.
- Approximately 6–7 structured questions.
- Generally one interview round, with a potential second round for finalists.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a client-focused Business Analyst or technical account professional who can bridge the gap between business requirements and technical specifications. They should be comfortable working with clients, interpreting documentation, understanding data and connectivity requirements, managing compliance gaps, and coordinating onboarding and certification activities.
- A background in payments, banking, financial services, card processing, risk/compliance, or client implementation would be highly valuable.
