Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Database Platform Engineer to help transition traditional database infrastructure into a modern, scalable Database Platform Engineering model. The ideal candidate will have strong traditional DBA experience combined with recent hands-on experience in platform engineering, infrastructure automation, architecture, and cloud-based database consumption.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, build, and support modern database platform capabilities.
• Transition traditional DBA processes and infrastructure toward a Platform Engineering model.
• Develop and maintain automated database infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Support database architecture, platform development, and consumption models.
• Automate database provisioning, configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to establish scalable and repeatable database solutions.
• Support cloud-based database consumption and modernization initiatives.
• Implement Config-as-Code practices for consistent and manageable database environments.
• Contribute to platform standards, automation, and operational best practices.
Required Skills & Experience:
• 5–7+ years of experience working as a traditional Database Administrator/DBA.
• Recent experience transitioning from traditional DBA responsibilities into Database Platform Engineering.
• Strong experience with SQL environments and database infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
• Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Config-as-Code principles.
• Experience with modern platform engineering, including building, architecture, and platform consumption.
• Experience with cloud consumption models, preferably Microsoft Azure.
