Lead Data Engineer - Remote

I'm partnering with a rapidly growing healthcare technology company that is looking to hire a Lead Data Engineer to help drive the evolution of a modern cloud-based data platform supporting large-scale healthcare analytics initiatives.
This is a highly visible technical leadership role where you'll own complex data engineering initiatives, influence architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and build scalable data solutions that directly impact healthcare programs and outcomes.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Design and build scalable ELT pipelines, data models, and cloud-based data solutions handling complex healthcare data sets.
- Lead architecture and modernization efforts, helping transition and optimize enterprise data platforms for scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Drive data quality initiatives through automated validation, monitoring, profiling, and observability frameworks.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to a small team of engineers while establishing best practices across data engineering.
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to solve complex data challenges and deliver impactful solutions.
What We're Looking For:
- 10+ years of Data Engineering experience
- Strong hands-on expertise with SQL and Python
- Experience building and managing large-scale ELT/ETL pipelines
- Expertise with modern data orchestration tools such as Airflow, Astronomer, Dagster, dbt, or similar.
- Experience leading architecture decisions, technical direction, and engineering teams.
Healthcare data experience is required, including working with:
- Claims Data
- Patient Data
- Member Data
- Provider Data
- Healthcare Analytics Platforms
Experience working in cloud and modern data environments.
