Staff Software Engineer – Research & Simulation
A leading quantitative trading firm is hiring senior engineers in Chicago to build the research and simulation systems behind its systematic trading strategies.
The platform enables researchers and traders to run large-scale experiments, accurately simulate how strategies would have performed in live markets, and move successful ideas into production faster.
The engineering challenge is making that research loop faster, more accurate and more scalable - increasing the number of ideas that can be tested while improving confidence that simulated performance translates into live trading.
What You’ll Do
- Build high-performance infrastructure for large-scale experimentation and backtesting
- Improve the speed, accuracy and realism of trading simulations
- Develop systems that allow researchers to test significantly more strategy ideas
- Solve challenging problems across distributed compute, large-scale data and performance
What We’re Looking For
- Excellent CS fundamentals and engineering judgement
- Strong experience in any of C++, C, Rust, or Java
- Experience with distributed systems, high-performance compute, simulation or data-intensive platforms
No quantitative finance experience required.
All conversations strictly confidential.
