We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team working on strategic product initiatives and large-scale distributed systems. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy building reliable backend services, improving system performance, and contributing to cloud-native architectures.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services using Java and/or Kotlin.
- Design, implement, and support scalable microservices and distributed systems.
- Build and enhance APIs using Spring Boot and GraphQL.
- Contribute to cloud-native solutions running on AWS.
- Improve application observability, reliability, and operational tooling.
- Participate in cost optimization and engineering maintenance initiatives.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams.
- Perform code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
- Support production environments and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong backend development experience with Java and/or Kotlin.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot.
- Experience working with MongoDB Atlas.
- Experience with Aurora MySQL on AWS or similar relational databases.
- Knowledge of AWS cloud-native services and distributed architectures.
- Experience building high-performance, scalable, and resilient applications.
- Strong understanding of API design and backend best practices.
- Good communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Apache Kafka and/or Amazon SQS.
- Experience with GraphQL (Netflix DGS Framework).
- Familiarity with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with REST APIs and gRPC.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar.
