I’m supporting an established technology company looking for an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join its development team.
This is a hands-on engineering position focused on designing, developing and optimising reliable firmware for embedded systems. You’ll work closely with hardware and testing specialists throughout the complete development lifecycle.
Your responsibilities:
- Design, develop and optimise embedded firmware using C/C++
- Create, analyse and review firmware requirements
- Develop firmware in accordance with relevant standards, including IEC 61508
- Contribute to software architecture decisions, focusing on modularity, reusability, security and performance
- Perform static code analysis, unit testing and systematic debugging
- Participate in code reviews through a pull-request workflow
- Implement and maintain CI/CD processes
- Apply DevOps practices and agile development principles
- Work closely with hardware and testing teams to coordinate interfaces and develop test strategies
- Set up and test electronic digital circuits using laboratory equipment and measuring instruments
What you’ll bring:
- Professional experience developing embedded firmware
- Strong programming skills in C/C++
- Experience working with embedded software architectures
- Knowledge of functional safety standards, ideally IEC 61508
- Familiarity with static code analysis, unit testing and modern debugging tools
- Experience with CI/CD processes and version-control workflows
- An understanding of electronic circuits and laboratory measuring equipment
