Role Overview
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python-based test automation, networking systems, and performance validation. This person will own end-to-end testing, develop automation frameworks and benchmarking tools, troubleshoot complex network issues, and support production/customer environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute tests to qualify network performance and AI/ML networking capabilities.
- Build and maintain test environments for system and solution validation.
- Develop and enhance Python automation frameworks, PyTest suites, and benchmarking tools.
- Define network performance metrics and collect/analyze benchmarking data.
- Configure, test, debug, and validate networking systems and solutions.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis for complex technical/customer issues.
- Work directly with customers to understand and clarify technical requirements.
- Participate in technical discussions and contribute to architecture and testing strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and share technical expertise and best practices.
- Contribute to open-source projects and modern QA/testing methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 7+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 4+ years, or PhD with 1+ years.
- 3+ years of Python automation/scripting experience.
- 2+ years of networking system configuration, testing, or debugging experience.
- Strong experience with PyTest or similar open-source QA automation frameworks.
- Hands-on knowledge of L2/L3 networking.
- Experience with BGP, ECMP, and VXLAN/EVPN fabrics.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with network test frameworks and traffic generators, both commercial and open source.
- Customer-facing technical experience.
- Technical leadership or team management experience.
- Experience with Network Operating Systems (NOS); SONiC is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of RDMA and HPC networking.
- Understanding of RoCE and InfiniBand protocols.
- Experience with network performance benchmarking and large-scale data-center/AI networking.
