Role Overview
Seeking a hands-on Epic Integrations Developer / Technical Lead to lead end-to-end integration initiatives across Epic and third-party healthcare systems. The role will design, develop, implement, and support secure and scalable interoperability solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle of Epic integration projects, from design through deployment.
- Develop and maintain interfaces using Epic Bridges, Interconnect, and external interface engines.
- Design and manage HL7 v2 interfaces, FHIR APIs, REST/SOAP APIs, and EDI workflows.
- Implement healthcare transactions including 837, 835, 270/271, and 278.
- Develop APIs/microservices and support third-party system integrations.
- Drive ETL, data mapping, field-level testing, and end-to-end validation.
- Troubleshoot complex Epic integration and interoperability issues.
- Collaborate with vendors, technical teams, clinical stakeholders, and Information Security.
- Ensure integrations meet HIPAA, security, and privacy requirements, including OAuth, SAML, and encryption.
- Maintain interface documentation and provide technical leadership throughout implementations.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of integration experience with strong healthcare integration background.
- Hands-on experience with Epic Bridges, Interconnect, and at least one interface engine such as Cloverleaf, Rhapsody, or MuleSoft.
- Strong knowledge of HL7, FHIR, EDI/X12, REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, SQL, and JDBC.
- Experience with healthcare transactions including Eligibility, Authorization, Claims, Remittance, and E-Prescribing.
- Strong troubleshooting and end-to-end integration implementation experience.
Preferred
- Epic Bridges Certification
- Experience with Epic Public APIs such as CTI, Credit Card Gateway, Printing/Faxing.
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and Epic cloud integrations.
