Summary
The Professional Practice Pathology Coder position is responsible for coding clinical documentation to capture the accurate disease burden of the patient while adhering to ICD-10 CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines and regulations at a state and federal level. This position is responsible for reviewing medical record documentation and assigning accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for services provided by physicians and other qualified healthcare professionals. This position performs coding Anatomic and Clinical Pathology coding services while meeting daily production and quality goals.
Minimum Experience Required:
Two (2) years health care coding experience with ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS classification systems Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
Minimum Licensure Required:
Any one of the following certifications is required:
- (CPC) Certified Professional Coder
- (CCS) Certified Coding Specialist
- (CPMA) Certified Professional Medical Auditor
- (COC) Certified Outpatient Coder
- (CCS-P) Certified Coding Specialist – Physician
- (RHIT) Registered Health Information Technician
- (RHIA) Registered Health Information Administrator
Any certification not listed above, but issued from one of the approved Governing Bodies listed below, may be considered by the business to satisfy this requirement

Minimum Experience Required:
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner to internal and external customers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with automated patient care and coding systems. (Cerner Electronic Health Record, Patient Keeper, PowerPath, PathNet, 3M.)
- Competence with MS Office software (Word, Excel, Zoom and Outlook).
- Reliability and a commitment to meeting tight deadlines.
- Personal discipline to work remotely without direct supervision.
Preferred:
Comprehension of Anatomic and Clinical pathology coding and guidance's
Experience in an in the oncology setting
Salary Range
$33.62 - $51.27
Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
