Position Overview
We are seeking a SOC Analyst to support a Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity environment. This position will focus on monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity threats across mission-critical systems and networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts, events, and network activity within a DoD SOC environment.
- Investigate potential cybersecurity incidents and determine severity and appropriate escalation.
- Analyze logs, network traffic, endpoint activity, and other security telemetry.
- Utilize SIEM and security monitoring tools to identify suspicious or malicious activity.
- Support incident response, containment, remediation, and documentation.
- Identify indicators of compromise (IOCs), vulnerabilities, and emerging cyber threats.
- Perform threat hunting and assist with detection and response activities.
- Create and maintain incident reports, tickets, and cybersecurity documentation.
- Collaborate with network, system, and cybersecurity teams to resolve security events.
- Support compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies and security requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting SOC operations, cybersecurity monitoring, incident response, or threat detection.
- Experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Elastic, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of network security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, and common network protocols.
- Understanding of cyber threats, attack techniques, vulnerabilities, and incident response processes.
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity environments preferred.
- Active Secret security clearance required.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
