A major international consumer-facing organisation is seeking an experienced Brand Licensing Expert to develop and execute a global licensing and brand commercialisation strategy.
This is a specialist commercial role requiring someone with a deep and demonstrable career background in brand licensing, ideally gained within a major international consumer brand, brand owner, licensing agency or global licensing business.
The successful candidate will identify opportunities to extend and monetise established brands through licensing, partnerships and new commercial categories across international markets.
This is not a traditional marketing or brand-management position. We are looking for an individual who has personally structured, negotiated and managed significant brand licensing agreements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a global brand licensing strategy.
- Identify new categories, territories and commercial opportunities for brand licensing and extension.
- Build a pipeline of potential licensees and strategic commercial partners internationally.
- Lead negotiations covering licence fees, royalties, minimum guarantees, territories, exclusivity, contract duration and performance commitments.
- Develop licensing commercial models and royalty structures.
- Evaluate the commercial and financial viability of prospective licensing partners.
- Work closely with Legal and IP teams to negotiate agreements and protect trademarks, intellectual property and brand reputation.
- Establish brand guidelines and approval processes for licensees.
- Manage licensing relationships and monitor commercial performance.
- Identify opportunities for brand extensions, co-branding and strategic partnerships.
- Assess opportunities across consumer technology, digital services, financial services, payments, travel, retail, entertainment and lifestyle categories.
- Develop licensing opportunities across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Americas.
- Build financial business cases and present opportunities directly to senior leadership.
- Establish reporting covering royalties, guarantees, licensing revenue, partner performance and opportunity pipeline.
Candidate Profile
We are specifically seeking someone with a deep career background in brand licensing.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 10–15+ years' relevant experience, with substantial direct responsibility for brand licensing.
- Experience with internationally recognised consumer brands.
- Proven experience personally negotiating significant licensing agreements.
- Deep understanding of royalty models, minimum guarantees, licensing economics and contract structures.
- Experience extending established brands into new categories and markets.
- Strong multi-country/international experience.
- An established network of licensees, licensing agents, retailers, distributors and brand owners.
- Strong commercial and financial capability.
- Experience working closely with legal/IP functions on trademarks and licensing agreements.
- Strong senior-level negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
