Weβre seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to provide hands-on leadership for a growing compounding pharmacy in Knoxville, TN.
This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist who enjoys leading teams, managing pharmacy operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and taking ownership of quality and patient safety.
πΉ Key Responsibilities:
π Oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations, workflow, staffing, scheduling, and productivity
π₯ Lead, coach, train, and support pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff
β
Ensure prescriptions, compounding, dispensing, and verification processes are completed safely and accurately
π Maintain compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations, Board of Pharmacy requirements, USP standards, and established SOPs
π¬ Oversee 503A compounding operations and medication preparation, labeling, storage, and dispensing processes
π‘οΈ Maintain a strong culture of medication safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance
ποΈ Serve as the primary pharmacy contact for Board of Pharmacy inspections, audits, accreditation activities, and regulatory inquiries
π Review medication errors, incidents, complaints, and quality concerns and implement corrective actions when necessary
π¦ Oversee medication and supply inventory, purchasing, storage, organization, and expiration management
π Maintain pharmacy documentation, policies, licenses, registrations, staff competencies, and regulatory records
π€ Partner closely with the Director of Pharmacy on operational improvements and strategic initiatives
π Qualifications:
βοΈ Active Pharmacist license in good standing in Tennessee
βοΈ Ability to serve as the designated Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC)
βοΈ Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience; 3-5+ years preferred
βοΈ Pharmacy leadership, supervisory, or management experience strongly preferred
βοΈ Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, compliance, medication safety, and quality standards
βοΈ Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
β Highly Preferred:
πΉ Previous PIC or Pharmacy Manager experience
πΉ 503A compounding pharmacy experience
πΉ Compounding pharmacy experience
πΉ Experience with State Board of Pharmacy inspections or regulatory audits
πΉ Experience developing or maintaining SOPs and quality assurance programs
πΉ Proven experience leading and developing pharmacy teams
