Role Description The Mill Machinist will operate, set up, and maintain CNC milling machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. We are looking for an experienced individual who can handle difficult parts and operate independently. Day-to-day responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate tooling and fixtures, performing machine setups, and monitoring operations to ensure parts meet exact tolerances and quality standards. The role involves inspecting finished parts using measurement tools, adjusting programs or offsets as needed, and documenting production activities in accordance with company and customer requirements. The Mill Machinist will collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to troubleshoot issues, improve processes, and optimize efficiency. This is a full time, on-site role located in Houston, TX.

Qualifications

- Strong CNC milling experience, including machine setup, operation, and program adjustments for precision, close-tolerance components.

- Ability to create simple programs on the machine using conversational programming, or CAD programming

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions, including GD&T and technical specifications.

- Proficiency with measurement and inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and adherence to established quality control procedures.

- Knowledge of machining practices, tooling selection, fixturing, and material properties for metals and composite materials.

- Basic understanding of safety standards and safe machine operation, with a focus on maintaining a clean and organized work area.

- Effective problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a production team.

- Previous experience in a precision manufacturing or aerospace-related environment is preferred; familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9000 practices is a plus.

- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in machining or manufacturing technology is beneficial.
