Data Analyst

📍 Sydney

🚀 2 positions available

We’re partnering with a fast-growing, purpose-led organisation that is looking for two Data Analysts to join its Sydney team.

This is a great opportunity for an early-career analyst who wants more than simply producing reports. You’ll work closely with Operations, Finance and the wider leadership team, using data to answer real business questions, improve reporting and automate processes across the organisation.

The team is young, energetic and highly collaborative. You'll suit the environment if you're curious, enthusiastic, empathetic and comfortable asking questions.

The organisation operates in a genuinely meaningful sector, and the data you work with ultimately helps the business deliver better outcomes for the people and communities it supports.

The Role

The reporting foundations are already there. Now they need people who can help take them further.

You’ll be responsible for:

- Writing SQL queries to answer business questions and uncover insights

- Building, maintaining and improving internal reporting

- Working with BigQuery and large operational datasets

- Translating data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders

- Supporting executive, operational and finance reporting

- Identifying anomalies and sense-checking data rather than simply reporting the numbers

- Improving and automating existing processes

- Troubleshooting reporting and data-quality issues

- Working with Jira

- Understanding what stakeholders are actually trying to achieve and determining how data can help

The question you'll regularly be answering is:

"The data says this — but what does it actually mean for the business?"

What We're Looking For

The main technical requirement is simple: you need to be strong with SQL.

Ideally, you'll have:

- Around 2–3 years' experience across Data Analytics, BI & Reporting.

- Strong SQL skills and confidence constructing queries independently

- Experience working with BigQuery or another modern data warehouse

- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

- Commercial curiosity and the ability to sense-check your own work

- Confidence communicating insights to non-technical stakeholders

- An inquisitive mindset, if something doesn't look right, you'll investigate why

Progression

The business is intentionally looking for people early enough in their careers that they can grow alongside the organisation.

As the data function develops, there is genuine scope to move into positions such as Senior Data Analyst, BI Lead or Head of BI/Head of Data.

If you're looking for somewhere you can join as an analyst, take ownership quickly and potentially build a function around yourself over the next few years, this could be an excellent opportunity.

Interview Process

The process is straightforward:

Stage 1: Face to face interview on site.

Stage 2: Offer
