Credit Risk Development Manager
London | Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office
£140,000 – £150,000 + Bonus
We are supporting a leading global investment bank in the appointment of a Credit Risk Development Manager to lead and shape their Credit Risk technology function in London.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an individual who combines deep Credit Risk expertise with strong technology leadership and architectural experience. The successful candidate will take ownership of the strategic direction, architecture and delivery of a global Credit Risk Analytics platform, working closely with senior stakeholders across Risk, Technology, Quantitative Analytics and the wider business.
The Role
As Credit Risk Development Manager, you will have responsibility for the strategy, architecture, development and ongoing delivery of the Credit Risk technology estate. You will act as a senior Credit Risk SME and technology leader, providing direction across the platform while maintaining sufficient technical depth to challenge architectural and engineering decisions.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Define and execute the strategic technology roadmap for the global Credit Risk Analytics platform.
- Lead and develop a geographically distributed, multidisciplinary technology team.
- Own the strategic architecture and target-state design of the Credit Risk technology estate.
- Lead architectural reviews and provide senior-level guidance on technical design decisions.
- Act as a subject-matter expert across Credit Risk, Counterparty Risk and Potential Future Exposure (PFE).
- Oversee the delivery of major Credit Risk technology programmes and regulatory change initiatives.
- Work closely with senior Risk, Technology, Quantitative Analytics and business stakeholders.
- Manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously, ensuring effective management of scope, resources, dependencies and delivery risk.
- Establish and maintain a high-performing engineering culture focused on technical excellence, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Take ownership of hiring, performance management, succession planning and talent development.
- Represent Credit Risk Analytics IT at senior governance forums and transformation programmes.
- Ensure platforms meet internal and external regulatory, audit, security and resilience requirements.
- Manage strategic technology vendors, budgets and resource planning.
- Identify opportunities to introduce new technologies and innovative approaches, including AI.

We're particularly interested in individuals with:
- Extensive experience within Credit Risk Technology / Risk IT in an investment bank, bank or financial institution.
- Deep understanding of Counterparty Credit Risk and PFE.
- Strong understanding of collateral, netting, exposure and Credit Risk pricing.
- Experience designing, implementing or overseeing Credit Risk / PFE platforms.
- Strong C# / .NET experience within large-scale financial systems.
- Proven experience owning or influencing technology architecture and architectural reviews.
- Experience leading large, geographically distributed technology teams.
- Strong understanding of derivatives and securities products.
- Experience managing major technology programmes and regulatory change.
- Excellent senior stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with cloud and distributed technology environments.
- Experience with Market Risk, VaR, Stress Testing or FRTB would also be advantageous.
