Backend Engineer (Java / Python / C#) | £80,000–£95,000 + bonus & benefits | London | Permanent | 5 days onsite
I’m hiring a Backend Software Engineer for a global investment bank in London.
Looking for someone who can code, solve problems and take ownership.
Java, Python or C# – ideally comfortable working across more than one language.
You’ll be working on large-scale backend systems supporting global payments and financial markets, with a team also pushing AI-assisted development.
What we're looking for:
- Strong backend software engineering experience
- Experience with Java, Python or C#
- Strong problem-solving and software design skills
- Experience working with scalable, distributed or high-performance systems
- Experience participating in or leading code reviews
- Ability to support and mentor other engineers
Experience with any of the following would be useful:
- Java 17+ / Spring Boot
- Oracle SQL
- Document databases
- Kubernetes
- Jenkins
- GitHub Copilot or other AI coding tools
- Building AI agents or using AI to improve engineering productivity
Salary: £80,000–£95,000 + bonus & benefits
Location: London
Working pattern: 5 days per week onsite
