Role Description
This is a full-time, hybrid Data Scientist role based in Rotterdam, with flexibility to work from home part of the week. The Data Scientist will design, develop, and validate machine learning models to support real-time price optimization and margin improvement for SYMSON’s customers. Daily activities include exploring and preparing data from various sources, performing statistical and exploratory analyses, and creating data pipelines that feed pricing models and analytics dashboards. The person in this role will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and customer-facing teams to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions and to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The role also involves continuous monitoring and refinement of models in production, documenting methodologies, and contributing to the overall data strategy of the company.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Data Science and Statistics, with experience applying these skills to real-world business problems.
- Proficiency in Data Analytics and Data Analysis, including cleaning, transforming, and interpreting complex datasets.
- Ability to create clear and compelling Data Visualization outputs for dashboards and stakeholder presentations.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and programming languages such as Python
- Familiarity with pricing, revenue management, or optimization models is an advantage.
- Experience working with relational databases, SQL, and cloud-based data platforms is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- Strong communication skills, ability to work in cross-functional teams, and comfort in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
