Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Turbine Engineer Power Senior/Staff to provide
technical leadership and engineering expertise for major gas compression and
power generation projects.
This position will serve as a senior technical specialist in rotating equipment,
gas turbines, steam turbines, reciprocating turbines, waste heat systems, and
generator technologies, supporting complex projects, technical evaluations,
performance testing, design, construction, and equipment reliability.
The ideal candidate will bring strong senior-level experience with turbine
engineering, rotating equipment, turbine controls, generator systems, gas
compression, power generation, equipment reliability, vibration analysis, and
natural gas or petrochemical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs technical and economic evaluations, performance testing, design, and construction of new facilities or upgrades to existing facilities.
- Conducts research and evaluates new technologies and developments related to turbine and power generation systems.
- Serves as a technical specialist in rotating equipment and reciprocating turbines.
- Applies specialized engineering knowledge to support and deliver major projects.
- Directs the work of other engineers and/or technical support staff as required.
- Prepares and delivers technical presentations to management and other stakeholders.
- Anticipates internal and external customer needs, assesses requirements, and identifies effective engineering solutions.
- Maintains a strong understanding of industry and operational requirements and champions engineering, reliability, and safety standards.
- Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends improvements to products, processes, and services.
- Collaborates with internal teams to ensure compliance, develop improvement plans, and identify training needs.
- Monitors and controls costs and resources associated with engineering projects.
- Serves as the highest technical subject matter expert in gas turbine, steam turbine, and waste heat design for gas compression and power generation.
- Defines practical maintenance practices for driver and driven equipment.
- Understands and modifies controls logic across various platforms.
- Provides technical expertise in turbine engine, package, and generator controls technology.
- Performs technical analysis of various generator manufacturers and systems rated at 5 MW and larger.
- Analyzes equipment reliability, generator vibration, generator health under transient loading, and generator protection.
- Provides technical guidance and recommendations for complex engineering and operational challenges.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university, OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
- For Senior level: Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry.
- For Senior level: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry with PE certification.
- For Staff level: Minimum of 15 years of engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry.
- Strong experience with rotating equipment and reciprocating turbines.
- Strong technical knowledge of gas turbines, steam turbines, waste heat systems, and generator technologies.
- Experience with turbine engine, package, and generator controls.
- Experience analyzing equipment reliability, vibration, generator health, and generator protection.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and PC skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with gas compression and power generation projects.
- Experience with turbine controls and controls logic modification.
- Experience with generator systems rated 5 MW or larger.
- Experience with equipment reliability, vibration, transient loading, and generator protection.
- Experience with major natural gas, petrochemical, energy, or power generation projects.
- Experience directing engineers and technical support staff.
- Project management experience.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification.
