About the Role
The Procurement Officer supports the company's purchasing and sourcing requirements, with a key focus on finding reliable suppliers, materials, and products from China. The role involves coordinating directly with suppliers, negotiating commercial terms, and helping ensure quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met.
This opportunity is open to Mandarin-speaking professionals with purchasing or procurement experience, including junior-level candidates who have exposure to China sourcing and are interested in developing their career in international procurement.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and identify qualified suppliers, manufacturers, materials, and products from China based on business requirements.
- Handle purchasing and procurement activities from supplier sourcing through order coordination.
- Communicate and negotiate with China-based suppliers regarding pricing, specifications, availability, lead times, and commercial terms.
- Compare supplier quotations and help evaluate vendors based on cost, quality, reliability, and delivery capability.
- Coordinate with internal teams to understand purchasing and material requirements.
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
- Monitor purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers to support timely delivery.
- Assist with supplier accreditation, documentation, and other procurement requirements.
- Conduct supplier and market research to identify alternative sources and potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Travel to China as required for supplier meetings, sourcing activities, negotiations, factory visits, and other procurement-related requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or any related field.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in Mandarin.
- Relevant experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Sourcing, or Supplier Management is required.
- Must have experience or practical knowledge in sourcing suppliers or products from China.
- Comfortable communicating and negotiating directly with China-based suppliers.
- Willing and able to travel to China as part of the role.
- Open to junior-level candidates with relevant purchasing and China-sourcing exposure.
- Candidates with an Engineering background are highly preferred, particularly for roles involving technical materials, equipment, or product specifications.
- Strong communication, negotiation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Organized and able to manage multiple supplier and purchasing requirements.
