About this position: AI Engineer Location – Washington, DC

Wage/Salary Range: $120k - $130k

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, deployment, and operation of production AI and agentic systems that automate complex federal human resources and administrative workflows.
- Architect reliable agentic systems incorporating workflow orchestration, model and tool integration, state management, authorization controls, human review, exception handling, and auditability.
- Build reusable AI infrastructure, components, and engineering patterns that enable agentic capabilities to be deployed across multiple workflows and use cases.
- Develop prototypes and technical experiments, evaluate emerging AI approaches, and transition successful solutions into secure, reliable production systems.
- Design testing, evaluation, monitoring, and failure-analysis methods to measure system accuracy, reliability, performance, and operational effectiveness in rules-governed environments.
- Integrate AI systems with existing applications, data sources, APIs, and enterprise infrastructure while meeting applicable security, privacy, and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with government stakeholders, subject-matter experts, and engineering teams to translate operational processes, requirements, and constraints into deployable technical systems.
Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications
- Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent certifications or military work-related experience.
- Level of Experience Requirements: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience with managing a variety of deliverables in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
- MS Office suite experience
- Excelled oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interact with senior level management both at the customer and corporate levels.
- Ability to interpret system security policies, rules and regulations

Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position will not have supervisory responsibilities.
DOT Covered/Safety-Sensitive Role Requirements
