We’re partnering with a leading healthcare organization to add a hands-on Systems Administrator to a large enterprise infrastructure team supporting approximately 1,100 virtual servers and several hundred applications.
The immediate need is for someone with strong Windows Server administration experience who has personally deployed, managed, patched, upgraded, and troubleshot production servers. This team also works across VMware, Microsoft 365, Azure, backup/recovery, storage, security, and other infrastructure technologies, so there is plenty of opportunity to broaden your experience over time.
This is a good fit for someone who enjoys being a true infrastructure generalist and does not want to be siloed into one technology.
What You’ll Do
- Deploy, configure, administer, patch, upgrade, and troubleshoot enterprise Windows Servers.
- Support the full server lifecycle, including new deployments, application installations, upgrades, maintenance, and decommissioning.
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and other core Windows infrastructure services.
- Support VMware/vSphere infrastructure, including VM provisioning and ongoing administration.
- Work directly with application teams and vendors to stand up infrastructure for new enterprise applications.
- Support server patching, maintenance windows, and systems management processes.
- Participate in infrastructure projects involving Microsoft 365, Azure, Exchange Online, virtualization, backup/recovery, storage, and cloud modernization.
- Assist with infrastructure-related security incidents and remediation.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and scheduled maintenance activities supporting a 24/7 healthcare environment.
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years of hands-on Systems Administration experience in a production environment.
- Strong recent experience administering Windows Server environments.
- Experience personally deploying and configuring Windows Servers or virtual machines.
- Hands-on Active Directory and Group Policy experience.
- Experience with Windows Server patching and lifecycle management.
- Experience with VMware, vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, Hyper-V, or another enterprise virtualization platform.
- Experience supporting infrastructure in an enterprise environment with multiple servers, applications, and business stakeholders.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating across infrastructure teams.
- Willingness to work across technologies rather than remain limited to a single specialty.
Nice to Have
- Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, or OneDrive.
- SCCM/MECM, WSUS, Ivanti, Ansible, PowerShell, or other patching/automation tools.
- Nutanix or experience with virtualization migration projects.
- Enterprise backup and recovery technologies such as Cohesity, Commvault, Veeam, or similar platforms.
- Storage experience with Dell, Pure Storage, SAN/NAS, or similar technologies.
- Linux administration.
- Citrix, NetScaler, F5, or CrowdStrike.
- Healthcare, government, higher education, financial services, manufacturing, or another large enterprise infrastructure environment.
- Security+, Microsoft, VMware, or other infrastructure certifications.
