About the Role
As a Senior Tax & Accounting Associate, you will support a variety of tax and accounting engagements for individuals and small business clients. This role combines hands-on accounting work, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting, with tax preparation, compliance, research, and client service.
You will manage assigned work across multiple client engagements, communicate directly with clients, and collaborate with managers and senior team members to ensure accurate and timely delivery of accounting and tax services.
In this role, you will:
- Prepare reconciliations, journal entries, supporting schedules, and financial reports for small business clients
- Maintain general ledger accounts and support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Prepare individual, partnership, S corporation, corporate, and trust tax returns
- Prepare and maintain accurate workpapers and supporting documentation for accounting and tax engagements
- Research federal and state tax matters and summarize findings and recommendations for managers and partners
- Communicate directly with clients to gather information, resolve discrepancies, answer routine questions, and provide engagement updates
- Manage multiple accounting and tax assignments while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards
- Identify accounting or tax issues and work with senior team members to determine appropriate solutions
- Collaborate with managers, partners, and other team members throughout the accounting and tax process
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of accounting and tax experience, preferably within public accounting
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or EA designation preferred, or actively pursuing
- Strong experience preparing individual and business tax returns, including partnerships, S corporations, corporations, and trusts
- Strong hands-on experience with reconciliations, journal entries, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and experience with tax and accounting software systems preferred
- Strong communication skills and experience working directly with clients
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements, priorities, and deadlines during busy periods
- Strong focus on accuracy, documentation, and quality of work
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
