About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Vice President, Full Stack Software Engineer specializing in Java and Microservices to join our ETF Technology Team in New York, NY. This pivotal role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable enterprise solutions that support our critical ETF platforms and business workflows. As part of our Asset Servicing division, you will collaborate closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and technical teams to modernize and enhance our technology infrastructure. Your expertise will contribute to building resilient, high-performance systems that meet the evolving needs of our clients and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in full-stack development, microservices architecture, and cloud-native practices, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality, secure, and maintainable software solutions. This role offers the opportunity to influence technical strategy, lead innovation initiatives, and support the stability and scalability of our enterprise platforms in a dynamic financial environment.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. A minimum of 8 years of hands-on software engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot technologies is essential, including expertise in Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and related modules. Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and Windsurf is highly desirable, demonstrating a commitment to leveraging innovative technologies responsibly. Candidates should demonstrate strong engineering judgment, ownership, and collaboration skills, with the ability to support business-critical platforms at a VP level. Proficiency in designing and integrating RESTful APIs and microservices, using relational databases like Oracle and SQL Server, and implementing secure authentication patterns such as OAuth2 and JWT is required. Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Grafana, and Prometheus is also necessary. A solid background in TDD, BDD, functional testing, and enterprise application development, coupled with experience in Agile methodologies, will ensure success in this role.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable full-stack solutions supporting ETF technology platforms and critical business workflows. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, architects, QA, infrastructure, and production support to ensure reliable and efficient technology delivery. Lead modernization initiatives by applying best practices in Java, microservices, APIs, and front-end development, promoting continuous improvement and innovation. Ensure high engineering quality through disciplined code reviews, automated testing, secure coding standards, and disciplined release management. Support production stability by troubleshooting complex issues, conducting root cause analysis, and enhancing system observability with monitoring tools. Drive platform resiliency, scalability, and performance by applying thoughtful design principles and continuous optimization. Utilize AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve productivity, software quality, and testing efficiency. Maintain clear and effective communication with technical and business stakeholders, providing timely updates, identifying risks early, and contributing to successful project execution. Support incident resolution, system tuning, and proactive risk mitigation to ensure operational excellence in a regulated financial environment.
