About The Role
ManTech is seeking a motivated, career-oriented Data Scientist to join our dynamic team in Chantilly, VA. In this role, you will work within a high-caliber environment dedicated to supporting national security through cutting-edge data science and analytics. You will be a vital part of a team managing a comprehensive Big Data environment, responsible for infrastructure, application development, and advanced analytic solutions. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in coding and scripting, particularly in Python, along with a solid understanding of analytic tools and methodologies. A minimum of a high school diploma with over seven years of relevant experience is required. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in applied mathematics, computer programming, machine learning, and scientific computing. Experience in visualizing complex data for non-technical stakeholders is essential. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of algorithms for classification, regression, clustering, anomaly detection, relational databases such as SQL, and large-scale distributed systems like Hadoop. Familiarity with statistical data analysis, data engineering pipelines, network operations, threat hunting, and threat modeling will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Work with large, complex, and disparate data sets to extract meaningful insights.
- Design and implement innovative analytical techniques to exploit the Sponsor’s data holdings effectively.
- Research and generate reports addressing a wide array of Sponsor inquiries, translating complex data into actionable intelligence.
- Proactively identify areas for analysis or exploitation, raising pertinent inquiries to the Sponsor for further exploration.
- Apply advanced analytical methodologies, including machine learning and statistical models, to solve non-routine problems and enhance analytic processes.
- Develop custom searches and analytical tools tailored to specific mission requirements.
- Participate in threat hunting activities and develop advanced detection mechanisms to counter malicious actors and cyber threats.
