Support Desk Engineer | Maritime Satellite Communications | Rotterdam
Salary: €4,500 - €4,900 per month (total annual package up to €63,500 inclusive of 8% holiday allowance)
A globally recognised manufacturer of maritime satellite communication systems is looking for a Support Desk Engineer to join their EMEA technical support team in Rotterdam. The role offers structured product training, a clear 9-5 working pattern with no after-hours or on-call requirement, and the backing of a well-established business with a strong global reputation in the maritime VSAT and satellite communications market.

Responsibilities
- Providing high-quality technical support to customers via telephone and email, covering installation, fault finding, and repair of maritime satellite communication products
- Monitoring open cases and driving prompt resolution, with focus on priority escalations and keeping customers updated throughout
- Performing structured fault analysis and maintaining accurate, real-time case records in the corporate case management system
- Providing technical assistance in both pre and post-sales environments and supporting co-workers with technical queries
- Reviewing and contributing to technical documentation and knowledge base content
Skills Required
- Background in SATCOM, marine electronics, satellite communications, or navigation systems
- Electromechanical or RF education or equivalent hands-on experience
- Excellent verbal and written English
- Full driving licence
Strong Differentiators
- Knowledge of marine VSAT, TVRO, or L-band satellite systems
- Familiarity with network infrastructure, modems, routers, and distribution equipment
- Knowledge of maritime industry regulations and requirements
