SCADA Engineer - 6 months - Inside IR35 - Fully Remote
Role Overview
A 6-month fully remote contract role, for an experienced SCADA Engineer within a power utility transmission environment. The position leads end-to-end testing activities across SCADA and Real Time control systems, with a preference for candidates who have hands-on experience with OSI Monarch. The role operates within an Agile delivery model and requires close collaboration with product owners, SCADA SMEs, and third-party suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
Lead test design and execution across SCADA systems, ensuring full test coverage and that all tests fully meet functional design requirements.
Assure third-party supplier testing fulfils client delivery requirements, leading defect triage and engaging the right stakeholders throughout.
Work within Agile Scrum teams alongside the Product Owner and SCADA SMEs to ensure User Stories and test cases capture requirements fully.
Monitor and report on test preparation and execution progress using JIRA/XRAY, managing risks and issues relating to testing activities.
Ensure all testing follows a consistent approach, aligned to the defined Test Strategy, Test Plans, and central test tooling standards.

SCADA testing expertise - Hands-on experience testing SCADA and Real Time control systems within power utility or electricity transmission environments; OSI Monarch experience is strongly preferred.
Test types & methodology - Strong experience across SIT, SAT, and FAT testing, with proven test design, development, and documentation skills including test case creation and defect management.
Integration & Middleware testing - Knowledge of testing integration Middleware including Oracle MFT and MuleSoft APIs.
Industry standards knowledge - Familiarity with power systems and control systems standards including IEC 101, IEC 104, GI74, IEC 61850, and IEEE standards.
Agile & test tooling - Practical experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery models, with hands-on use of test management tools such as JIRA/XRAY or HP-ALM.
