We're partnering with a growing Physical AI company developing connected hardware and software products deployed in real-world environments. They're building out a dedicated Platform Engineering team responsible for the software foundation that powers their devices throughout their lifecycle.
This role is a mix of software engineering, Linux systems, infrastructure and hardware-integrated products. You'll help design and develop the platform capabilities that support device provisioning, software deployment, system management and the ongoing operation of a fleet of Linux based devices.
Responsibilities
- Develop software, services and tooling supporting Linux based devices and distributed systems
- Build and maintain platform capabilities related to provisioning, configuration, software deployment and device lifecycle management
- Design solutions that improve reliability, observability and operational efficiency across deployed systems
- Work closely with software, systems and hardware engineers to support end-to-end product functionality
- Troubleshoot issues spanning software, operating systems, networking and hardware-integrated environments
- Contribute to architecture decisions and help define the future direction of the platform
Requirements
- 4+ years of software development experience using Python and C++
- Strong understanding of Linux environments and system-level software
- Experience with Docker and containerized applications
- Familiarity with networking concepts and distributed systems
- Exposure to hardware-integrated environments, whether through embedded Linux, IoT, edge computing, robotics or device based products
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
- Comfortable working across multiple technical domains and adapting to changing priorities
Nice to Have
- Embedded Linux experience
- Exposure to device provisioning, fleet management or software deployment systems
- Experience working with industrial PCs, edge devices or connected hardware products
- Experience supporting products from development through deployment and operation
This role would suit a software engineer who enjoys working close to Linux, infrastructure and hardware, and wants to help build the platform layer underpinning next generation intelligent systems.
